A new generation of children has grown up – terms “leader”, “elder leader” are not familiar and unattractive to them. Looking ten years back brings us to the times when a Leader was familiar to each representative of that time generation.

A leader is a “head”, a friend and is respected by all children. They want to communicate with him as he always invents something new, funny and unusual. A leader is a person to whom you can tell your secrets, he is always able to understand you, to give necessary advice, and to point at some mistakes. Children rely on his opinion, because he is always very “close” to them.

Leader is the most creative profession among all education professions. It was very honourable to become a leader of the most famous Russian camps, “Artec” and “Orlyonok”, as there were the “best” children, who had to deserve the chance to stay in these camps. A leader who has worked in “Artec” and “Orlyonok” became a Master of education art.

Now the children do not have an opportunity to enjoy friendly relations with the leader. A position of Leader-Tutor has been forgotten, too, that is a problem especially during the summertime and summer vacation, when camps start working. A lack of well-prepared, communicative, creative, tolerant and child-loving people becomes evident. And if good tutors can be found among good teachers, the lack of the leaders is simply catastrophic! The leader schools are very few, though the age of the leaders is often very close to the age of the children, so revival of the leader schools is a task of a great importance! This is the goal of the “Centre of Education Art and Children Creativity of V.A.Suhomlinsky” and this goal is gradually being achieved. Now the Centre starts working in three main streams:

Basic.
1.The School of Education Art. Provides preparation and qualification studies for the leaders, tutors, trainers, animators, training-managers.

2. Department of Children Creativity will help the students of the School of Education Art to develop their tutorial abilities, necessary features of character and creative abilities, to use them in practice, working as the leaders of studios and student groups.

3. Department of Leisure Time and Active Rest will teach the students of the School of Education Art to work in International Camps of active rest and sport activities at the position of volunteers. Such practice discovers new opportunities in using their professional skills.
