Offer of cooperation in the field of Charity activity in Russia (teaching of the English language to Russian children)

The public non-commercial organization of The Traditional and Sport Wushu Federation (Moscow, Russia) sends you its deepest respect and an invitation to take part in our summer Volunteer Programme.

The Traditional and Sport Wushu Federation

The main part of our work is studying the heritage of the traditional Wushu, using its methodology consisting in usage of the modern scientific approaches and experting cultural heritage in a great amount of fields concerning human studies, organizing seminars and special courses for the coaches. Working with children from families with the limited income and “problem” teenagers is one of the important aspects of our activity, it consists in organizing summer children camps, where the children do not only train their Wushu, but also develop other skills and increase their cultural and educational level.

Summer Volunteer Programme

The Traditional and Sport Wushu Federation invites volunteers from the UK, the USA, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand to take part in its Summer Volunteer Programme as teachers of English in children sport camps from June, 2007 to August, 2007. Offered volunteer jobs: a teaching assistant, animator, translator, education consulter and administrator (combination of two or three roles is also possible). Flexibility of the programme allows the volunteer to determine how many hours per week he or she wants to commit for and how long to stay (breaks for independent travelling and side seeing are easily arranged).

The Programme offers the volunteers accommodation (shared apartment or home-stay), help with documents, including visa and registration. We also organize initial orientation in Russian culture and offer a unique possibility to attend free Russian language course during your stay.

Volunteers

Education/Qualifications required: The Programme is open to anyone who has successfully their school education, to graduates and undergraduates.
Personal skills: Applicants should be highly motivated, able to adapt to different cultures and to take initiative working individually or in a team. We also look for confidence, enthusiasm and a serious attitude to work.
Age: The Programme is open for everyone who feels young and enthusiastic, although applicants should be at least 18 at the start of the programme.
Financial independence: Applicants must be able to support themselves financially throughout their stay in Russia. Applicants for the longer programmes (24 and 36 weeks) may be eligible for a housing grant.
